Tennessee Hospital Engineers Association

WHO WE ARE

Dan Roop from Memphis Tennessee founded the Tennessee Hospital Engineers Association (THEA) in 1958. Each year "The Dan Roop Award" is presented to the hospital engineer in Tennessee who best exemplifies and supports the mission of the Tennessee Hospital Engineers Association.

The Tennessee Hospital Engineers Association is affiliated with the Tennessee Hospital Association (THA). THEA currently has over 75 members. The membership is divided into three geographical regions across the state and the regions meet individually throughout the year. The three regions combine for an annual meeting each fall at the Opryland Hotel as part of THA’s annual membership meeting.

OUR MISSION

The mission of the THEA is to promote better patient care through the study and application of new developments and techniques related to hospital engineering through state and regional meetings.

BENEFITS

Members have the opportunity to network at regional meetings and at the annual THA meeting to seek answers to common problems shared by other healthcare engineering professionals. Speakers that are relative to healthcare engineering are provided at both the regional and state meetings to keep members current on new developments and techniques.
