  • How did you end up in health care? Laid off from my first job out of college in 1977, went back to nursing school on the advice of my cousin and as an avenue for continued employment. Started in the role of an RN in 1980, and have continued my education and grown my career since.
  • What is the biggest challenge you are facing in your job? Providing a secure environment for our employees in spite of decreased revenues and resources from all payers and providers.
  • Who has been your biggest inspiration in your career and why: My fellow employees and the patients we take care of.
  • What would you be doing if you weren’t in health care? Working in a manufacturing environment as an engineer.
  • I can’t believe I did this: Two-week motorcycle trip through four states in the southwest visiting five national parks.
  • Dream retirement: House on the lake in Lenoir City,TN.
  • Education: A.A., University of Tennessee; B.S, University of Tennessee; M.B.A., University of Memphis. Licensed as an RN and nursing home administrator.
