The deadline for submission of presentation proposals for the 7th annual leadership conference is August 1. The Nursing Partners Collaborative, Tennessee Center for Patient Safety and Tennessee Association for Healthcare Quality recently announced plans for the conference, which will be held October 30 in conjunction with THA's annual meeting at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center in Nashville.
This year's THA annual meeting theme is Seize the Moment! Lead/Focus/Engage. The leadership conference will highlight successful strategies to support the CMS Partnership for Patients goals of reducing hospital complications and readmissions. It will include best practice sharing among hospital teams.
The keynote speaker for the conference will be Ridley Barron, a former senior pastor, author, nationally known speaker and tireless advocate for patient safety. Carrying the power of personal experience, Ridley approaches the subject of patient safety as few can. The tragic events surrounding his son and his family provide the backdrop for what is a powerful message on quality of care, excellence in health care, full disclosure and the second victim.
CMS leaders of the national Partnership for Patients program also have been invited to speak.
Hospitals are strongly urged to submit presentation proposals that demonstrate and share best practices on fostering an organizational culture for excellence, quality and patient safety improvement successes, engaging patients and families, navigating transitions of care, and strategies to promote collaboration and teamwork. This is a great opportunity to network and share successful strategies among hospitals, as well as recognize and reward staff members' hard work on improving care for patients.
The deadline to submit presentation proposals and abstract forms is August 1. For additional information, contact Chris Clarke at THA, cclarke@tha.com, 615-256-8240.
