NBC News Correspondent Lisa Myers will be the keynote speaker during the THA annual meeting, which will be held October 30-November 1 at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, Nashville. She is going to discuss the 2012 election and beyond at the opening general assembly on October 31.
Maureen Swan, principal, MedTrend, Inc., will talk about developing a high performing board at the THA education and awards luncheon on October 31. She also will discuss healthcare trends every executive should know at the THA executive leadership session on October 30.
Diana Smalley, American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) chairman-elect, will talk about healthcare leadership at the ACHE breakfast.
David Rubenstein, a retired major general, Army Medical Department, will discuss healthcare leadership during a THA education session on October 31. Another THA education session on November 1 will focus on performance in the new healthcare economy and speakers will include Marlin Chapman, Nissan North America; Jennifer Wortham, Institute for Performance Excellence; Douglas Gunderson, UCLA Santa Monica Hospital; and Matthew Brown, University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville.
Brian Boyle, author and ironman competitor, will talk about triumphing against the odds at the THA membership luncheon on November 1.
The THA leadership summit on October 30 will feature Ridley Barron, a patient safety advocate who will talk about how every ½ second counts; Dennis Wagner, co-director, Partnership for Patients, who will discuss hospital-acquired conditions and preventable readmissions; and a Tennessee showcase of best practices from across the state.
The ACHE category 1 education session will focus on the 12 variables for sustaining organizational success with Thomas Atchison, EdD, Atchison Consulting, LLC.
